Noosa Civic Expansion
Response to Information Request
In our view, there is no reason to suggest that the expanded centre would operate as two separate and
independent centres.
2.6 Issue 42 - Traffic
The overall traffic growth rate suggested of 1.5 percent per annum is considered reasonable but this growth
may not occur evenly over the network. For example, it is likely that traffic growth rates will be higher on Walter
Hay Drive and Eenie Creek Road than Eumundi Road.
Information Required - Further consideration should be given to the above issue.
The growth rates across individual road segments were further considered, specifically the roads referred to
in item 42. The roads investigated were as follows (see Figure 2-1):
> Eumundi-Noosa Road: Intersecting at Beckhams Road
> Eenie Creek Road: Intersecting at Eumundi Road
> Eumundi Road: Intersecting at Walter Hay Drive
> Walter Hay Drive: Intersecting at Eumundi Road
> Eenie Creek Road: Intersecting at Walter Hay Drive (Western)
> Eeine Creek Road: Intersecting at Walter Hay Drive (Eastern)
> Walter Hay Drive: At northern access.
Figure 2-1 Locations Investigated for Individual Growth Rate
For these individual road segments, the growth rates were identified during the peak periods, for the following
time periods (see Appendix B):
> 2007 to 2009
> 2009 to 2014
> 2007 to 2014.
