The Recommendation is that Council Resolve to Propose to make Parking (Amendment)
Subordinate Local Law (No. 1) 2025.

Nil.

Finance
The amendment of parking multipliers will result in an increase in parking infringement revenue with
an allowance for this being factored in to the proposed 2025/26 budget. Should the proposed
amendment not be adopted, this would result in a reduction to forecast revenue in the proposed
2025/26 budget, with an adjustment required to reflect this change at a future budget review.

Risk & Opportunities
While an increase in revenue is projected, this may not be fully reflected in Council's cash flow if
fines remain unpaid and are referred to State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER) for collection.

Should the increase in the infringement amount result in the behavioural change intended, this may
result in decrease infringement volumes which impact the forecast revenue generated and adopted
as part of the 2025/26 budget.

Increased parking turnover from reduced overstays helps support the local economy through greater
customer access to local businesses.
