POLICY BACKGROUND
The purpose of this policy is to establish a structured and sustainable approach to asset management
across Noosa Council. The policy aims to ensure that all Council owned assets are effectively
managed to maximize their service delivery potential, ensure sustainability, and meet community’s
needs.
COUNCIL POLICY
This policy applies to all physical assets owned or controlled by Noosa Council, including but not
limited to:
• Transportation Infrastructure (Roads, Bridges, Carparks, Pathways and Boardwalks)
• Stormwater drainage
• Buildings and Facilities
• Parks and Playground facilities
• Land.
Policy Objectives
The policy’s objectives are to:
• Deliver sustainable asset that are effectively managed.
• Ensure assets support the delivery of high-quality services to the community
• Optimise asset performance and value over their lifecycle
• Align asset management practices with Noosa Council’s strategic goals
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
Guiding Principles
Sustainability
• Incorporate environmental, social, and economic sustainability into all asset management
practices.
• Minimise environmental impacts through efficient resource use and sustainable asset design.
• Incorporate Noosa Design Principles in the management and delivery of infrastructure.
• Identify value for money and fit for purpose approach on asset and material selection.
