RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Manager Revenue Services to the Services & Organisation
Committee Meeting dated 6 October 2020 providing an overview of the July 2020 Rate Levy.


REPORT
This report provides Council with a summary of the July 2020 rate levy.

1.                     Levy Summary

Rate notices were issued on the 21 July 2020 with property owners having until 21 August to pay
to receive a 5% discount on their general rates, and until the 21 September to pay to receive a
2.5% discount on their general rates.

The gross amount of the levy was $39.68 million, which comprised of $36.24 million of Council
rates and charges, and $3.44 million for the State Emergency Management Levy. Between
January 2020 and July 2020 the net increase in rateable properties was 101, representing minimal
growth of 0.33%.
