4. Payment Preferences and Arrangements to Pay
BPay continues to be the most popular payment option by far, as shown in the graph below.

There are currently 365 properties that have made an arrangement to pay their current rates in
accordance with section 2.6.2 of the Revenue Statement, representing $228,474 of the outstanding
rates and charges. This is a decrease of 105 properties and approximately $100,000 from the
previous levy.
5. Electronic Rate Notice Delivery
Council continues to encourage residents to register for electronic delivery of their rate notice,
either by e-mail direct to their private email address or delivery to their online banking platform via
BpayView. At the conclusion of the levy period we had 1,077 properties registered for BpayView
and 8,450 properties registered for email delivery, which means that we have just over 29.5% of
all rate notices now sent electronically. Ongoing efforts are being made to continue to encourage
electronic rate notice delivery.
6. Extended Discount Period
Offering an extended 60 day discount period did not have a dramatic effect on the timing of the
payments. By the end of the rating period past levies were approximately 80% paid. At the
equivalent time for this rate levy we were just under 75% paid.
In dollar terms it was a difference of $2.4 million between the January Levy ($32.6M) and July levy
($30.2M) for payments up until the Friday following the 30 date due date.
By the end of the 60 day discount period the levy was approximately 83% paid. The following chart
shows the payments made each week in the levy period, as a percentage of the total rates levied
including arrears.
