INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 19 AUGUST 2014
Four additional TransLink services operate throughout the Noosa region but travel outside
the Shire and into Maroochydore, Nambour, and Eumundi (Routes 620, 622, 630 and 631).
These services have historically not been included in the Noosa Free Holiday Buses
service. As a result, to cater for the residents between Peregian Beach and Sunrise Beach,
and the influx of people in the Noosaville precinct, the following additional shuttle services
are recommended:
• 064 (shuttle) – Peregian Beach to Noosa Heads from 8am to 6pm
• 065 (shuttle) – Noosa Junction to Noosaville (intersection on Eumundi Noosa Rd /
Hilton Tce) from 9am to 4pm.
Over Easter 2014, a second 065 shuttle was used over the Easter long week-end, see
Table 1: Passenger Data Easter 2014.
An alternative to providing additional shuttles would be to ask TransLink if the Noosa only
journeys on Routes 620, 622, 630 and 631 could be incorporated into the Free Holiday
Buses service.
In previous years, the Boreen Point - Tewantin Flexilink and Council Cabs services were
also included in the Free Holiday Buses service and provided free of charge to passengers.
As an indication of the Free Holiday Buses usage, Table 1 below provides passenger data
from Easter 2014 for the Noosa only TransLink services, the additional Sunbus shuttles,
Council Cabs and the Boreen Point - Tewantin Flexilink service.

4. Marketing
Based on Free Holiday Buses survey results, Table 2 below details the four main ways by
which passengers became aware of the Free Holidays Buses. Word of mouth and the fact
that many residents and visitors have previously caught Free Holiday Buses is a recurring
response as is signage on the bus, street banners and bus brochures/posters.
