Noosa Planning Department,

I am writing to provide feedback for the proposed hotel development in Serenity Close, Noosa Heads. I am an owner and resident of 15/12 Serenity Close, Noosa Heads.

In general I have no problem with the development of the proposed hotel as I understand the area needs more quality style holiday accommodation. However I have serious concerns with the size of the complex (195 rooms) considering the traffic and parking issues that are sure to be a major issue for all residents of Serenity Close, Grant Street as well as Katharina Street. The additional traffic and parking are going to cause problems (despite the independent reviews that the developer has produced).

I would like the council to seriously consider going ahead with the proposed walkway along the Noosa River that would end at the Lions Park. If this proposed walkway were built it would mean most residents of the hotel as well as Serenity Close would use the walkway to get to Hastings Street and certainly reduce traffic along Katharina and Grants Streets.

So to recap, please consider downsizing the hotel and extending the existing pedestrian walkway that stops in front of 10 & 12 Serenity Close (on the river side) all the way to the Lions Park.

Yours sincerely,
Doug Oates
