Delegated Power:
 1.    To exercise the powers of Council pursuant to the Local Government Act 2009.


DESCRIPTION OF POWER DELEGATED                                              LEGISTATION
Power to conduct a public benefit assessment of a new significant Section 46(2)
business activity
Power to prepare a report on the public benefit assessment in accordance Section 46(5)
with section 46(5) of the Local Government Act 2009.
Power to apply a code of competitive conduct to a business activity other Section 47(9)
than a business activity prescribed under a regulation.
Power to establish a system of financial management, except those parts Section 104(1)
of the system that must be adopted by resolution (e.g. 5-year corporate
plan, budget and operational plan).
Power to regularly review and update the financial policies of Council.     Section 104(6)
Power to carry out a review of the implementation of the annual operational Section 104(7)
plan annually.
Power to give the public notice of the disbursement of funds not provided Section 110
for in the local government’s budget.
Power to make a submission as a local governing body within the meaning Section 228(4)
of the Local Government (Financial Assistance) Act to assist the Local
Government Grants Commission to make a decision about funding under
the Local Government (Financial Assistance) Act.
