TRAFFIC CONTROL
When designing a TGS, the designer shall consider and document the process for
installing traffic control devices: Traffic Lights - Portable Traffic Systems
• Ensure they do not conflict with information on any existing signs or warning signs already erected.
Cover or remove any existing signs that are not relevant during works (see Section 2.5.3).
• Ensure they do not create an unavoidable hazard for road users or road workers. Traffic Control Ute
• Ensure they are efficient, logical and quickly isolate the work area from road users.
• Signs shall be installed in the appropriate order as detailed in AGTTM Part 6. Cone Truck
• Position signs as per the requirements in the TGS and AGTTM Part 6.
Site Inspections • Ensure traffic control devices will be clearly visible to approaching road users (see Section 2.5.3).
• Ensure traffic control devices are effectively stable (see Section 2.5.3). Truck Mounted Attenuator - TMA
Inspections should be undertaken; • Ensure suitably trained workers can install and remove traffic control devices on roads, with
appropriate protection, which may include a TMA.
