The analysis indicates that the roundabout is expected to operate at suitable levels at the 2025 assessment
year, with Earthworks traffic included, with a worst-case DOS 43% (less than 85%, practical capacity limit of
roundabout) and overall LOS A. The addition of the Earthworks traffic has no notable impact to key
operational metrics, with minor change to average intersection delay and at most an increase in queuing of
1m (less than 1 vehicle length - approx. 6.0m).
Based on this assessment, the proposed development is considered to have negligible impact on the
operations of the Grant Street / Noosa Drive / Sunshine Beach Road roundabout intersection.
Analysis of Grant Street / Banksia Avenue
Ultimately, access to the subject development will be achieved with the addition of a fourth (western) leg to
the existing Grant Street / Banksia Avenue roundabout intersection.
However, during Bulk Earthworks this access will not be in place and haulage vehicles will gain access to the
subject site at three (3) proposed temporary access locations as highlighted in Figure 3-3 overleaf from
Avada Traffic’s Traffic Management Plan (TMP). All Earthworks traffic will be turning in / out from the Grant
Street eastern approach and Banksia Avenue northern approach. Therefore, the intersection will remain as
per the existing arrangement.
