LANDSCAPE SPECIFICATION NOTES

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

All Landscape drawings are to be read in conjunction with the Landscape Specification Notes; associated Landscape Materials & Finishes Schedule; and the
drawing packages from the consultant team including architectural and all engineering drawings.

Scope of Works - The scope of works includes, but is not limited to, the supply, construction, installation, placement, and execution or otherwise of works as
documented on the drawings and Landscape Specification Notes.

Workmanship & Materials - All works are to be constructed to a high standard of workmanship and finish. All materials to be new (unless otherwise
documented), as specified, defect free, shelf-life current and suitable for intended use.

Ordering & Supplies - Place orders for delivery of all materials including plant materials in sufficient time to ensure availability in accordance with the
construction program. Obtain material including plants and mulch, from approved suppliers and provide proof of ordering on request. Advise immediately if
supply difficulties are encountered. If a specified material is not obtainable, submit proof of non-availability and provide a proposal for use of an equivalent
alternative material. All substitutions are to be approved in writing prior to progressing further with the works. No extensions of time will be approved for
delays generated by a failure to order material with adequate lead time.

2. FALLS

All paved and turf areas are to be graded evenly and away from building or as shown on drawings. Ponding is not acceptable.

3. SURFACE LEVELS

All adjacent surfaces are to be level and flush unless stated or documented otherwise. Final surface levels are to be verified on site. All proposed kerb and road
levels are by Civil Engineer. Refer to Architect's drawings for all proposed pavement levels.

4, DESIGN FOR ACESS AND MOBILITY

All external pavements, handrails and stairs are to comply with AS 1428 - 2009. All levels are to be read in conjunction with architectural and engineering
documentation.

Maintain 600mm wide firm surface adjacent and level with grade of all primary access paths to AS1428.1.
5. SOILS
Imported planting media to natural ground areas shall conform to the requirements of AS 4419 for Organic Soil. Imported planting media shall be loam as defined

by AS4419. Soil is to be free from noxious weeds, rocks, roots, rubbish or any other deleterious material. Refer to Materials & Finishes Schedule for soil depths.
All planted and turf areas to have sub grade cultivated to a depth of 150mm.

6. MULCH

Provide mulch free of deleterious or extraneous matter such as soil, weeds, rocks, and twigs & conform to the requirements of AS 4454. Mulch to finish
level with surrounding finished levels after settlement allowances of the top soil and mulch. Place mulch clear of plant stems to avoid rotting at ground
level. Refer to Materials & Finishes Schedule for mulch depths.

7. PLANT QUALITY

All plants shall be true to their scheduled nomenclature, well formed, hardened off stock. They shall be grown in potting medium with their root system firmly
established, but with no large roots growing out of the container.

Form and habit for the plant shall be normal for the plant as scheduled and no plant shall be cut back so severely that the growth and development of the desired
plant form is retarded. All plants shall be free from living insect pests and insect and or disease injuries.

8. TREE QUALITY

Prepare live materials in advance of installation to NAT SPEC Guide - Specifying Trees: A Guide to Assessment of Tree Quality (2003) standard to ensure
satisfactory performance and growth rate after planting and/or placement at project site. Refer to CD-LD-01 for tree planting details.

Allow for nursery inspection of all plant stock prior to delivery to site.

9. PLANTING IMPLEMENTATION

Adopt planting procedures that produce healthy plants within the prevailing soil, climatic and management environment of this project. The following is the
minimum expected:

Excavate a hole for each plant twice the diameter of the rootball and 100 mm deeper than the root ball. Break up the base of the hole to a further depth of
100 mm and loosen the sides of the hole.

Remove the plant from the container with minimum disturbance to the root ball, and place it in its final position, in the centre of the hole and plumb. Ensure
the plant root ball is level with the finished surface of the soil surrounding the hole or bed.

Thoroughly water plants immediately after planting and at such times during the contract period as is required to maintain growth free from water stress.
Each plant will require a minimum of 10 litres of water at the time of planting.

Backfill with topsoil as specified. Lightly tamp and water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets. Ensure that topsoil is not placed over the top of the root ball.
Cultivate sub grade to minimum depth of 150mm. Supply & spread imported topsoil to minimum depth to 300mm, fill depressions and rake smooth. Supply
and place plants in accordance with Planting Plans. Use approved ‘Complete’ Slow Release Fertiliser in pellet form to manufacturer's specifications. Refer
to Materials & Finishes Schedule for fertiliser type and application.

10. SAMPLES

Provide all necessary samples as specified or as requested, of materials or finishes proposed to be used. Final work is to match the approved samples. Work not
conforming to the approved samples may be rejected, and the rejected work is to be altered, corrected, rebuilt, or replaced without variation to the Contract. All
samples of materials and finishes are to be approved by the Superintendent prior to being employed in any works. Preserve all samples in safe keeping until
related work is complete. Minimum period for consideration for all samples is 5 working days.

11. PAVEMENTS

All pavements shown within the landscape package are for reference to the surface finish and concrete colour only, refer to the Engineering documentation for all
structural requirements.

12. SUB SOIL DRAINAGE

All Field Gullies associate with this landscape package are located within garden areas to facilitate the drainage of subsoil drains, all other gullies refer to civil &
hydraulic engineers design package.

Subsoil drainage is to intercept groundwater seepage and prevent water build-up behind walls, in garden areas, and under pavements.

Subsoil drainage to be a black polyethylene slotted corrugated subsoil drainage pipe with a minimum nominal diameter of 90 mm to comply with AS 2439 (all
parts).

Subsoil drainage & Field Gullies must be connected to surface drains or to the stormwater drainage system. Connections are to be thoroughly sealed.

13. PRACTICAL COMPLETION

The landscape contractor shall arrange a time prior to the completion of works with the Landscape Architect & Superintended for the Practical Completion
inspection of the works.

14. ESTABLISHMENT/ MAINTENANCE
The planting establishment period commences at the date of practical completion.

The landscape contractor shall establish & maintain the landscape works for a period of twelve (12) weeks. During the 12 weeks establishment the following is a
minimum of works to be undertaken as part of the maintenance regime in order to reach Final Completion;

All plants shall be watered so as to ensure continuous healthy growth.
Weeds and rubbish shall be regularly removed from planting areas.

Replace all plants that are unhealthy or dead. Replacements shall be of a similar size, quality and identical species or variety of that plant unless
otherwise directed.

Provide trimming to all plants using the combined methods of thinning-out and heading-back to encourage natural growth habit of plants, but never shear.

Generally protect mulched and planted areas from damage, malicious, irresponsible or accidental damage. Reinstate damaged areas to original
specifications.

- Provide final fertilise application of complete slow release fertiliser as specified.
15. | FINAL COMPLETION

The landscape contractor shall arrange a time prior to the end of the Establishment period with the Landscape Architect & Superintended for the Final Completion
inspection of the works.
