AMENDED “CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT PLAN” 26 Sep 2017
Note:
This Construction Management Plan has been revised February 2018 to facilitate installation of a
proposed lift from the previously approved terrace deck level, to the main floor level of the existing
house including a modest extension of the existing main house deck.
The original clauses have been retained and remain valid.
Any necessary amendments are displayed in Grey Shaded table cells inserted as required.
1. CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT PLAN
This report considers the Construction Management Plan for the
proposed new suspended steel and timber terrace together with access
requirements, materials handling, clearing, worker parking, and
environmental considerations.
It is proposed to utilize predominantly manual material handling to construct
the footings, steel and timber terrace and install landscaping.
All Conditions are to be complied with to the reasonable satisfaction of Noosa
Council.
Amendment 1.
This Construction Management Plan has been revised February 2018 to include installation of a
proposed lift from the previously approved terrace deck level, to the main floor level of the existing
house including a modest extension of the existing main house deck.
SUBMISSION BY BUILDER
The Builder is to submit written acknowledgement that the building
works shall be in compliance with the 9 tonne load limit applicable to
Park Road.
The Builder is to submit written acknowledgement that no vehicle
greater than 6.0m in length will be used for the removal of excavated
material and that no more than one vehicle will be allowed to stand in
Park Road at any time.
The Builder is to submit written acknowledgement that most workers
vehicles are to be parked in Allambi Rise or in the existing driveway and
carport.
The Builder is to submit written acknowledgement that all the works will be

Page 7
STORMWATER DRAINAGE
Stormwater will be collected by a conventional arrangement of gutters,
slatted field drains and downpipes and piped through to the Council
stormwater main in Park road. The stormwater will connect to the Council
main gulley pit to limit surcharge.
CLEARING
The proposed development retains all the significant trees on the
property. Identified on the Tree Protection Plan Rev B 11/08/2017
prepared by Myles Baldwin Design and in accordance with AS 4970—
2009. Protection of Trees on Development Sites.
A number of smaller trees previously planted by the owner of No. 12 Park
Road will be removed to allow access and for construction of footings.
(Refer to Survey/Engineering Plans). On completion a similar tree will be
replanted in each original location on site and in the road reserve to provide
and effective visual barrier to the undercroft of the proposed deck
Prior to construction all trees will be clearly tagged and recorded on a
survey plan. On completion the trees will be resurveyed to ensure full
compliance with the conditions of the Development Approval.
All work on the subject site is to be undertaken in accordance with the
approved Tree Protection Plan, Development Permit for operational works
(landscaping), construction management plan and conditions of council
approval
No regrading of the slopes within the Tree Protection Zone will be
permitted. The regrading of the slopes (to improve overall long-term
stability) beneath the terrace will disturb the existing vegetation. On
completion it is proposed to replant beneath the terrace with shade
tolerant native species.
Amendment 2.
As part of the Proposal to install a lift from the level of the previously approved terrace deck level,
to the main floor level of the existing house including a modest extension of the existing main
house deck the tree protection plan has been amended (Revision D) to cover an extra tree.

Most workers vehicles shall be parked in Allambi Rise or in the existing
driveway and carport of 12 Park Road which is accessed by the 9A
driveway Allambie Rise.
All construction access is to be obtained from Allambi Rise via the existing
easement subject to the following exceptions:
a) A crane may be used for delivering prefabricated materials and the
pier digging machine to the site.
The use of the crane in Park Road is to occur on two (2) separate
days only, first for the delivery of the pier digging machine and any
prefabricated materials, the second to retrieve the pier digging
machine and provide any further prefabricated materials as required.
Traffic control is to be provided for the use of the crane in Park Road,
in accordance with the builders Traffic Management Plan.
b) Access from Park Road to the site is to be used for the purpose of
a concrete pumping pipe to be located at the base of the rock
retaining wall on the boundary of 10 Park Road, laid upon a
composted wood chip mulch 600mm wide and 150mm thick. Any
mulch contaminated by concrete or wastes shall be removed from
the site. Any remaining clean mulch may be left in situ and spread
to 50mm thickness.
MATERIALS HANDLING
As previously described all prefabricated building materials will be
delivered to site via Park Road. Manual material handling will be
employed throughout the construction to minimize construction activities
and impact on the site, especially existing vegetation.
In addition a temporary builder’s hoist a temporary scaffold platforms
will be erected in the existing driveway and within the property
boundaries of 10 and 12 park road including a builders hoist over the
existing Driveway to accommodate the mini concrete pump waste

ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT PLAN
The method of construction does require the use of a crane. This
offers significant environmental advantages as summarized below:
• By utilizing micro piling to ensure the stability of footings no tracked machine
will be required to access the site. The piling rig can be man handled around
the site after being craned into position utilizing protective temporary
walkways and level platforms installed in accordance with AS 4970—2009
• Manual material handling will be employed throughout the construction to
minimize construction activities and impact on the site, especially existing
vegetation.
• All construction and materials handling will be undertaken beneath the tree
canopy thereby avoiding potential damage to the canopy.
• All significant and protected trees within the work area will be fenced and or
otherwise protected during construction in accordance with the Tree Protection Plan
Rev A 11/08/2017 prepared by Myles Baldwin Design and in accordance with AS
4970—2009
• The Builder is to utilize where possible all trades and workers who were
involved in building the residence on No. 12 Park Road. This will ensure that
all workers understand the sensitivity of the site, the importance of preserving
the vegetation and the need to minimize noise, dust and other building activity
impacts on adjacent home owners and the public.
• The working area will be minimized to protect any significant vegetation
See amendment 5.
All significant and protected trees within the work area will be fenced and or otherwise protected
during construction in accordance with the most recent Tree protection Plan prepared by Myles
Baldwin Design and in accordance with AS 4970—2009 and approved by Noosa Shire Council
(See amendment 2)
REMOVAL OF BUILDING WASTE
Building waste will be collected in a garbage trailer or light truck situated
adjacent to the garage of No. 10 Park Road. Sand spoil will be lowered
daily from the terrace platform to the garbage trailer or light truck located
adjacent to the garage of No.10 Park Road.
EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL
Erosion and Sediment Control is considered for both work areas as
summarised below:
□ The driveway to park Road will require silt fences to be installed to
the perimeter of the works. Sand bags will be placed in the gutters
during excavation and concreting to prevent runoff into the Council
Page 13
storm water system.
□ Erosion and Sediment Control for the proposed terrace will
require a silt fence to the perimeter of the proposed footing
excavation.
□ The permanent storm water drainage system will be connected
to the Council system as an early works operation to prevent
any concentrations of runoff discharging onto the sand slope.
Environmental Controls Plan to prevent pollution from
concreting operations during the construction (Grouting & Pile
Caps)
Background.
The use of concrete materials is reduced to a minimum due to the use of
a micro piling system which is to be craned onto site.
The small volumes of concrete required allow the use of a small
concrete grout pump with reduced line size to grout piles and concrete
pile caps.
This system gives precise control to the operators making spillage and
cleaning requirements negligible.
Controls:
The builder/site manager will ensure the following best practice sediment
control measures including a designated wash down area are in place
before work starts and are adequately maintained throughout construction.
• The designated wash down area is to be located within the site on the
existing paved driveway with sediment control screening in place and
an appropriate HDP waste receptacle drum will be available to retain
any sediment waste from swept up spillage or cleaning of equipment.
Page 14
• The receptacle drum will be exchanged as required, fitted with a sealed
lid and the contents removed from site regularly to the concrete
supplier’s authorised off site recycling and disposal facility.
• The builder/site manager will ensure all workers on the site are aware of
their responsibilities to minimise pollution including the concrete pump
operator who will directly monitor equipment to ensure leakage and spillage
does not occur.
• The concrete supplier will selected on the basis that appropriate training
has been provided to their agitator truck drivers, and that they provide
appropriate details and resources to enable them to complete a delivery
without causing pollution.
• The agitator truck driver who will be required to be familiar with the
Concrete Safe Site Delivery Guidelines (available from Cement Concrete &
Aggregates Australia at www.concrete.net.au under ‘A-Z Directory’) and will
have sufficient training and experience to deliver concrete to site and then
return to the batch plant without causing environmental harm through
spillage or leakage of concrete.
• The driver will inspect and maintain the truck at all times and will be
instructed to raise any concerns about the pollution controls on site with the
builder/site manager.
• The driver must also ensure sediment is not tracked off site. If this occurs, it
will be swept up and put back into on site sediment receptacle drum.
• Where possible, the delivery of concrete will occur within the site, using
small trucks, to ensure the risk of spillage contaminating the stormwater
system is minimised.
• If site access is restricted and the delivery of concrete must occur on the
street, appropriate sediment controls will be in place before pouring
begins.
• The builder/site manager will ensure that all appropriate sediment controls
are in place before the concrete pour starts.
• Any spillage that does occurred during the delivery procedure will be
swept up before removing the sediment controls and concrete spillage
will not be hosed into the stormwater system.
• Chutes, barrels, wheelbarrows and other equipment will be rinsed in the
site wash-down area.
• To minimise the amount of wash-down water generated, excess
concrete will be scraped off equipment before it is washed.
• Water in the wash down area will be contained and recycled as required
and not allowed to flow into the stormwater system.
• Excess concrete will be returned back to the supplier’s depot.
Page 15
• The chute contents will be washed into the sediment receptacle drum and
sealed with a lid before leaving the site.
▪ The drum will be secured onto the main frame of the vehicle
ready for transportation.
▪ The drum will be secured with a bracket that is easily
accessible to the operator.
▪ The drum will be removed from the bracket and the waste
water emptied into the designated treatment facility once the
truck returns to the yard with the wastewater containing
suspended solids being recycled back into the plant.
• The vehicle will be washed down at the depot.
• Delivery vehicles will be on paved surfaces at all times and so no mud soil
and or stones will be carried off site as pollutants.
• Inspect roads for any sediment that has been tracked off site and
sweep it back on site.
• (This will be done if there is threat of rain and at the end of each day). A hose will
not be used to wash it away.
INSTALLATION OF PILES AND CAPPING
Methodology for installation of hollow bar micropiles as deep foundation
support for the new timber deck.
The micropiles consist of one or more outers steel casings installed to
the depths indicated on the piling subcontractor (PCA) drawings. A
central steel reinforcing element consisting of a 40/20 hollow bar is to
extend to a pre- determined design depth below the casing to form the
bond length and develop the applied load.
After checking the the project drawings for the details of the micropile
arrangement for each pile location (designed in accordance with the Tree
protection plan.) the Tree protection plan, the construction management
plan and relevant environmental protection documentation and
instructions the rig will be craned into position for the first pile onto a
previously established level temporary protective platform constructed in
accordance with the tree protection plan and AS4970 - 2009.
Drilling will be carried out using a 90mm EXX drill bit using a rotary top
hammer for installation and all installation specifications accurately
recorded for this and all subsequent piles.
The piles are grouted as the work proceeds and any excess grout is
collected and pumped into storage containment for offsite disposal in
accordance with the concreting operations environmental protection
plan.
The process is repeated for subsequent piles.
The onsite grouting pump will be contained within its own bunded area
Page 16
which will be kept clean as the work proceeds and managed in accordance with the above Environmental Controls Plan to prevent pollution from concreting operations during the construction. Pile capping is to be managed in the same way as the grouting procedures.
Page 17
TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
The first operation will be the installation of the micro piles and
excavation of footings. During this stage the builder shall engage
the services of a traffic management company to ensure there is no
interference to the general traffic using Park Road. Traffic
controllers will be required to be present to divert vehicles during
the installation of micro piles and excavation of footings.
Traffic controllers will divert all vehicle deliveries and departures to the
site on Park Road. The timing of deliveries shall be such that they do
not coincide with peak usage times in Park Road.
Refer to Traffic Guidance Scheme prepared by Evolution Traffic
Control for details of proposed traffic management.
The builder warrants that using the procedures nominated above the
elevated terrace can be safely constructed with minimal impact on the
environment oincluding the protected trees.

CAVEATS, LIMITATIONS, AND DEFINITIONS
The findings of this Tree Protection Plan are based on observations made at the time of
inspections prior to this Tree Protection Plan being prepared and from the information contained
within plans / documentation provided by the project team of consultants.
The Tree Protection Plan reflects the subject trees as found on the day of inspection. There is no
warranty or guarantee, expressed or implied, that problems or deficiencies with the site or the
subject trees may not arise in the future. Any changes to the development proposal or tree
management works beyond those recommended in this Tree Protection Plan may alter the
findings and recommendations of the Tree Protection Plan.
The methodology used in this Tree Protection Plan follows the procedures detailed in Australian
Standard: AS 4970—2009 Protection Of Trees On Development Sites. This Tree Protection Plan
also references the British Standard BS: 5837 (2005) Trees In Relation To Construction –
Recommendations. The references used in this Tree Protection Plan provides the following
information:
Tree species - botanical and common name, referenced on plan with a corresponding number.
DBH – Diameter at breast height (mm)
SRZ – Structural Root Zone radius (m)
TPZ – Tree protection Zone radius (m)
DBH (Diameter at Breast Height) - Stem /trunk diameter measured at 1.4m above ground level.
On sloping ground, measurements will be taken at the mid slope point at the base of the tree.
Where a tree stem / trunk begins to branch at a point that is less than 1.4m above ground, a
combined stem diameter is calculated using the formula: Total DBH = √ DBH2+ DBH2 + DBH2
SRZ (Structural Root Zone) – The area around the base of a tree required for the tree’s stability in
the ground. The woody root growth and soil cohesions in this area are necessary to hold the tree
upright. The SRZ is nominally circular with the trunk at its centre and is expressed by its radius in
metres.
TPZ (Tree Protection Zone) – A specified area above and below ground and at a given distance
from the trunk set aside for the protection of a tree’s roots and crown to provide for the viability
and stability of a tree to be retained where it is potentially subject to damage by development.

RECOMMENDATIONS
The Project Arborist shall be appointed to monitor all trees to be retained for the duration of the
project and provide compliance documentation as per Councils requirements.
Following tree removal, as part of site establishment works, install TPZ fencing and/or trunk and
ground protection for trees T26, T87, T177, T181, and T271 (refer Appendix B – TPZ Specification
and Appendix C – Trunk & Ground Protection).
To provide development access fencing may be set back. Where TPZ fencing is set back,
ground protection/tree sensitive demolition and construction methods shall be used as per
Appendix D - Working Within A TPZ.
Tree Protection measures shall be inspected and approved by the Project Arborist and
compliance documentation provided to the Principal Certifying Authority prior to the
commencement of development works. Tree protection measures shall only be removed on
completion of all construction works to provide access for soft landscape works (i.e.
turfing/planting) in the final stages of the project.
No grade alterations or excavation (including services installation) other than for approved
works shall be permitted within a TPZ area. Approved grade alterations/excavation shall be
supervised by the Project Arborist.
Where possible all existing footings and services within a TPZ area shall be left in situ. Where
footings are to be removed the works shall be supervised by the Project Arborist and demolition
undertaken in small sections using hand-operated breakers only.
Pier locations shall be hand excavated to a minimum depth of 600mm and if roots greater than
25mm diameter are encountered the pier location shall be adjusted to enable the retention of
roots (unless root pruning is approved and undertaken by the Project Arborist).
Landscape treatments (i.e. planting or turfing) to be undertaken within the TPZ areas shall avoid
cultivation of soils (other than light cultivation using hand tools only) to enable the retention of
roots >25mm diameter.
A temporary irrigation system shall be installed within the TPZ area of trees T26, T87, T177, T181,
and T271 to ensure an adequate supply of water to maintain the health of the tree. Drip lines
shall be spaced at 600mm centres and the system operated via an electronic tap timer for a
minimum of 20 minutes on a daily basis. Irrigation requirements shall be periodically reviewed
and amended as required, by the Project Arborist throughout the development period.
New trees shall be grown in accordance with AS 2303 (2015) Tree stock for landscape use.
The recommendations of this Tree Protection Plan are subject to approval by Noosa Council.

APPENDIX D: All works within a Tree Protection Zone (TPZ)
Access Through A TPZ
• Where no other options exist, access is permitted within the TPZ for elements of
approved development works e.g. placement of scaffolding, demolition works, or for
the movement of machinery/materials. To minimise compaction of the soil within the
TPZ, a temporary access route shall be constructed to the following specifications:
• For light use (compact machinery / pedestrian traffic) - a 100mm layer of coarse grade
mulch spread across the surface of the ground, over which HDPE ground mats, plywood
sheeting, scaffolding boards or similar are to be placed. The movement of compact
machinery and pedestrian traffic is to be restricted solely to these areas.
• For heavy use (any vehicles >3.5t) – a layer of geotextile fabric is to be laid across the
surface of the ground over which an approved, temporary load bearing surface e.g.
reinforced concrete slab, road base, cellular confinement system etc. is to installed. To
prevent damage to the root system of the tree(s) the ground beneath the temporary
access route must not to be altered in level or compacted prior to the installation of the
load-bearing surface.
• Removal of any temporary access route materials is to be carried out with care to
ensure that the ground beneath the roadway is not altered in level or compacted
during removal operations.
• All works within a TPZ must be supervised by the project Arborist and are to be carried
out according to the Australian Standard 4970-2009 and as permitted in accordance
with the prior approval of the Council.
Demolition Of Structures Within A TPZ
• All plant and vehicles engaged in demolition works should either operate outside the
TPZ, or should run on either a temporary surface designed to protect the underlying soil
structure, (as detailed in points above or existing pavement surfaces. Where such
ground protection is required, it should be installed prior to commencement of
operations.
• Where trees stand adjacent to structures scheduled for demolition, it may be necessary
to undertake demolition inwards within the footprint of the existing building (often
referred to as “top down, pull back”). Where levels of dust build-up on trees are likely, it
may be necessary to seek the advice of an Arboriculturist on remedial measures, e.g.
hose down the tree(s) immediately following any significant accumulation of dust.
• Where an existing hard surface is scheduled for removal, care should be taken not to
disturb tree roots that may be present beneath it. Hand held tools or appropriate
machinery should be used (under arboricultural supervision) to remove the existing
surface. Where roots are exposed, they are to be protected with damp hessian sacking
or a layer of mulch (minimum 75mm) to prevent desiccation. Hessian sacking or mulch is
to be watered regularly to ensure root coverings remain moist at all times. When
backfilling around exposed roots, temporary protection materials e.g. hessian/mulch

are to be removed and the roots covered with river sand or other coarse granular fill
before replacing the soil. Builder’s sand is not to be used, as its high salt content can be
toxic to roots.
• The advice of an Arboriculturist should be sought where underground structures present
within the TPZ are/will become redundant. In general it is preferable to leave such
structures in situ and seal them off as this avoids the need for significant excavation.
• All works within a TPZ must be supervised by the project Arborist and are to be carried
out according to the Australian Standard 4970-2009 and as permitted in accordance
with the prior approval of the Council.
Construction Work Within A TPZ
• Prior to installation of a new ground surface, existing ground cover vegetation should be
killed using an appropriate herbicide e.g. Glyphosate based products. Herbicides that
can leach through the soil e.g. products containing Sodium Chlorate should not be
used. Once dead, the vegetation and loose organic matter should be removed from
the soil surface using hand tools.
• If ground levels are to be raised with a TPZ this should be achieved by use of a granular
material that does not inhibit vertical gaseous diffusion e.g. gap graded fill. Depending
upon the load bearing capacity of the soil it may be necessary to install a load
suspension layer such as a cellular confinement system.
• Works within the TPZ may be permitted for the construction of approved works such as
modified footings (e.g. pier and beam, cantilevered slab etc.), designed to minimise
the impact upon the root system of the tree. Any excavation must be carried out by
hand and is to avoid damaging the protective bark of any tree roots encountered.
Should any roots over 25mm diameter be encountered, then the location of the
modified footing must be adjusted as required to prevent damage to these roots. Roots
smaller than 25mm diameter may be pruned back using a sharp saw or secateurs.
Where appropriate the project Arborist may be required to supervise excavations and
consult with the project Engineer as to the relocation of modified footings etc.
• Works within the TPZ may be permitted for the construction of above grade slabs and
pavements, designed to minimise the impact upon the root system of the tree. In
concentration carbon dioxide is detrimental to tree root function. Because this gas
principally diffuses vertically through the soil, new impermeable surfacing within a TPZ
should where possible be restricted to a maximum width of 3m and situated tangentially
to one side of a tree only, or confined to an area no greater that 10% of the TPZ.
• All works within a TPZ must be supervised by the project Arborist and are to be carried
out according to the Australian Standard 4970-2009 and as permitted in accordance
with the prior approval of the Council.

Amendment 5)
Above drawing updated to include area of excavation; all work to be restricted to within the
excavated area of the lift and access walkway.
Scaffolding is to be erected within a TPZ as nominated in the above set out plan, where
adequate ground protection such as plywood sheeting or scaffolding boards is installed to
prevent compaction of soils. All boarding must be placed over a layer of mulch and impervious
sheeting to prevent contamination of soils, and branches that conflict with erection of
scaffolding must not be pruned without prior approval by the relevant consent authority.
Branches that may abrade on scaffolding are to be protected with suitable padding or may be
tied back under advice from the project arborist.
The above set out plan will allow for the erection of a 5.2m x 8.6m scaffold platform erected
above the existing driveway to accommodate the hydraulic pump and facilitate the removal
of spoil through a void into a truck below. This is to be supported by the existing rock walls and
driveway. Running from this will be an elevated ramp to support pump lines and facilitate the
removal of spoil; to be erected within the property boundary and on top of existing stonewalls.
Further protective scaffold platforms at 2.4m x 1.2m will be erected to support the drill rig and
adjacent to pile positions, to prevent compaction of soils by foot traffic and drilling operations.
All works within a TPZ must be carried out according to the Australian Standard 4970-2009 and as
permitted in accordance with the prior approval of the Council.

APPENDIX F: Installation of piles and capping
Environmental Control Plan to prevent pollution from concreting operations
during the construction (Grouting & Pile Caps)
Background.
The use of concrete materials is reduced to a minimum due to the use of a micro piling system
that is to be craned onto site.
The small volumes of concrete required allow the use of a small concrete grout pump with
reduced line size to grout piles and concrete pile caps. This system gives precise control to the
operators making spillage and cleaning requirements negligible.
Controls:
The builder/site manager will ensure the following best practice sediment control measures
including a designated wash down area are in place before work starts and are adequately
maintained throughout construction.
The designated wash down area is to be located within the site on the existing paved driveway
with sediment control screening in place and an appropriate HDP waste receptacle drum will
be available to retain any sediment waste from swept up spillage or cleaning of equipment.
The receptacle drum will be exchanged as required, fitted with a sealed lid and the contents
removed from site regularly to the concrete supplier’s authorised off site recycling and disposal
facility.
The builder/site manager will ensure all workers on the site are aware of their responsibilities to
minimise pollution including the concrete pump operator who will directly monitor equipment to
ensure leakage and spillage does not occur.
The concrete supplier will be selected on the basis that appropriate training has been provided
to their agitator truck drivers, and that they provide appropriate details and resources to enable
them to complete a delivery without causing pollution.
The agitator truck driver who will be required to be familiar with the Concrete Safe Site Delivery
Guidelines (available from Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia at www.concrete.net.au
under ‘A-Z Directory’) and will have sufficient training and experience to deliver concrete to site
and then return to the batch plant without causing environmental harm through spillage or
leakage of concrete. The driver will inspect and maintain the truck at all times and will be
instructed to raise any concerns about the pollution controls on site with the builder/site
manager. The driver must also ensure sediment is not tracked off site. If this occurs, it will be
swept up and put back into the site sediment receptacle drum.
Where possible, the delivery of concrete will occur within the site, using small trucks, to ensure
the risk of spillage contaminating the stormwater system is minimised. If site access is restricted
and the delivery of concrete must occur on the street, appropriate sediment controls will be in
place before pouring begins.

The builder/site manager will ensure that all appropriate sediment controls are in place before
the concrete pour starts. Any spillage that does occurred during the delivery procedure will be
swept up before removing the sediment controls and concrete spillage will not be hosed into
the stormwater system. Excess concrete will be returned back to the supplier’s depot.
Chutes, barrels, wheelbarrows and other equipment will be rinsed in the site wash-down area. To
minimise the amount of wash-down water generated, excess concrete will be scraped off
equipment before it is washed. Water in the wash down area will be contained and recycled as
required and not allowed to flow into the stormwater system. The chute contents will be washed
into the sediment receptacle drum and sealed with a lid before leaving the site. The drum will
be secured onto the main frame of the vehicle ready for transportation, and the drum will be
secured with a bracket that is easily accessible to the operator. The drum will be removed from
the bracket and the wastewater emptied into the designated treatment facility once the truck
returns to the yard with the wastewater containing suspended solids being recycled back into
the plant. The vehicle will be washed down at the depot.
Delivery vehicles will be on paved surfaces at all times and so no mud soil and or stones will be
carried off site as pollutants. An inspection of roads for any sediment that has been tracked off
site will occur and if any is present it will be sweep back on site (this will be done if there is threat
of rain and at the end of each day). A hose will not be used to wash it away).
INSTALLATION OF PILES AND CAPPING
Methodology for installation of hollow bar micro-piles as deep foundation support for the new
timber deck.
The micro-piles consist of one or more outer steel casings installed to the depths indicated on
the piling subcontractor (PCA) drawings. A central steel-reinforcing element consisting of a
40/20 hollow bar is to extend to a pre-determined design depth below the casing to form the
bond length and develop the applied load.
After checking the project drawings for the details of the micro-pile arrangement for each pile
location designed in accordance with the Tree Protection Plan, the Construction Management
Plan, and relevant environmental protection documentation and instructions, the rig will be
craned into position for the first pile onto a previously established level temporary protective
platform constructed in accordance with the tree protection plan and AS4970 - 2009.
Drilling will be carried out using a 90mm EXX drill bit using a rotary top hammer for installation
and all installation specifications accurately recorded for this and all subsequent piles.
The piles are grouted as the work proceeds and any excess grout is collected and pumped into
storage containment for offsite disposal in accordance with the concreting operations
environmental protection plan. The process is repeated for subsequent piles.
The onsite grouting pump will be contained within its own bunded area which will be kept clean
as the work proceeds and managed in accordance with the above Environmental Controls
Plan to prevent pollution from concreting operations during the construction.
Pile capping is to be managed in the same way as the grouting procedures.
