Risks & Opportunities
If not managed properly, a change in leadership at a CEO level can bring disruption to an
organisation. That is why 9 months’ notice been given to ensure that a smooth and planned transition
can be undertaken.
The decision to appoint a new CEO is an important one for any Council. By giving plenty of notice,
the Council is able to take its time, undertake a thorough recruitment process and review all
candidates prior to making the appointment. It also provides time to engage a specialist recruitment
firm that can assist Council throughout the process.
