PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 7 FEBRUARY 2017
Trunk infrastructure now generally contained in the trunk road corridors (or to a specific
destination/facility) as contained in Appendix B of the Guideline detailing indicative trunk
infrastructure.
The current PIP DSS has been reviewed by the Infrastructure Planning and Design team in
consultation with Holland Traffic Consulting Pty Ltd who prepared Noosa’s 2016 Traffic Study to
2036 adopted by Council on the 11 February 2016.
In summary, the DSS contained in the current PIP is considered to remain generally suitable for
the new LGIP with amendments primarily only to:
update references to current design and construction standards such as Department of
Transport and Main Roads publications; and
clarify that trunk infrastructure for the transport network is generally considered:
o to align within (or adjacent to) trunk road corridors;
o provides main through linkage connections; and
o to specific high use destinations and facilities.
The updated DSS proposed for the Transport network for the new LGIP is provided for Council’s
consideration in Attachment 1.
