Subject: MCU22/0201 - 34 Elm Street, Cooroy - Proposed Car Wash in Cooroy From: Marian Batley Date: 2023-10-23T10:54:02+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail You don't often get email from [email protected]. Do not open links or attachments if the email is unexpected or unusual. to Whom it may concern. From Graeme and Marian Batley, 28 Kensington Drive, Cooroy. We are opposed to the car wash being built at this site because: It will increase noise levels in the area It will increase traffic flow It is too close to residences It will not fit with the decor of the area and destroy the sense of Cooroy being a country town This site is on the main thoroughfare into Cooroy from Noosaville and other areas. It will be unappealing and unattractive at this site. Cooroy is not a large town. It is our opinion that the town does not need this facility. Noosa already has car wash facilities available. for those who wish to use them Large vehicles and caravans will make their way from the free RV site to the car wash, using the overpass to access it. The overpass is the only available access and is already congested, inadequate and at times dangerous. If a car wash is deemed to be necessary, it should be built on the other side of town, in the industrial area where there will be much less impact on residents and the ambiance of the town. Please, take note of the opposition to this proposal. Yours sincerely, Graeme and Marian Batley
