7.4 Applicable Works Codes
             Driveways and Parking Code
The two existing driveway crossovers are proposed to be consolidated to result in a single footpath
crossing to minimise potential conflict points and will be designed in accordance with Council’s standard
drawings for residential driveway requirements.

Each unit has been provided with 2 car spaces with an additional 2 car spaces provided for visitors to
the development. Vehicles have the capacity to manoeuvre and leave the site in a forward direction.
Each single garage has been designed to provide additional width for people with mobility limitations.

A pedestrian pathway along the side of the driveway provides a dedicated path to the front gate, mailbox
are and kerb for transport of resident’s bins on collection day. The separation of vehicle and pedestrians
on the driveway will minimise potential conflict points and improve safety.

             Earthworks Code
The proposed earthworks have been designed to minimise cut and fill, work sensitively with the gentle
slope of the land and minimise changes in level, particularly at the street frontage. The site will be
battered rather than retained with solid walls to allow a softer landscaping solution and allow free
drainage from the site. All earthworks will be undertaken in accordance with future operational works
approvals as required.

             Landscaping Code
The development is proposed to include 809m2 (40.4%) for soft landscaping. The landscape plan
attached at Appendix B provides the concept for future landscaping.

Deep planting is proposed along the frontage to the site including trees and shrubs selected for their
climatic and functional suitability, size and aesthetic.

Plant species will include native species to provide shade and sufficient density to result in a soft
landscaped presentation to the street. An extract from the landscape design is shown below in Figure
19 detailing the concept for private courtyard landscaping.
