other areas in an environmentally sensitive manner.
• RSL building envelope to be protected by mulch as described in the Landscape Master Plan;

Master Plan and landscape operational works plans;
• Service corridors within POSCWP and Park; in accordance with approved Ecological

Criteria for selection of vegetation to be retained within development area
Criteria for selection of vegetation to be retained shall be in general accordance with the following
points and as determined at the site inspection (see Point 4 above). Trees to be considered for
retention are to include those that:
1. Are currently of habitat value and are likely to continue to be of such value with the development
in place.
2. Habitat trees are considered to be trees that provide or potentially provide a number of resources
for arboreal and avian fauna, and may include:
• refuge/nesting/roosting opportunities – that is trees with hollows, fissures or cracks and dead
(stag) trees;
• significant forage resources e.g. pollen, nectar, foliage, arthropods for common fauna (eg.
Banksia spp.); and
• significant forage resources for koala and glossy black-cockatoo (eg. E.tereticornis and
A.littoralis).
3. Specific approval is required for the removal or lopping of known Koala habitat trees in
accordance with Residential Single Lots condition 36 and Residential High Density condition 34.
4. Trees considered important for koalas in areas to be cleared (or adjacent to areas to be cleared)
include E.tereticornis, E.robusta, C.intermedia, L.confertus, M. quinquenervia.
5. Trees considered important for glossy black-cockatoos in areas to be cleared (or adjacent to areas
to be cleared) include:
• all large trees (eg. E.tereticornis, E.robusta, C.intermedia) that may provide nesting
resources;
• A.littoralis that exhibit suitable form and health; and
• A.littoralis that show signs of foraging activity.
6. Do not affect existing or proposed infrastructure such as buildings, sewer lines, communication
links, etc. Trees within 5m of a proposed structure will not be retained unless specifically
nominated as important for retention.
7. Are not likely to be affected by building works.
8. Do not present a safety or maintenance issue (including long term safety and maintenance
