40. No clearing of vegetation, ground disturbance and associated earthworks activities
covering areas in excess of 600m2 are to be undertaken without an approved erosion and
sediment control plan being available for such works.
41. To avoid contamination of potential mulch material for revegetation and landscaping, the
Contractor shall separate native and non-native/weed species into different stockpiles as
far as is practicable. Non-native vegetation (including seed pods and other propagative
material) shall not be mulched for re-use on site, to minimise the risk of propagation and
consequent contamination of landscaping/revegetation material. The only exception to this
is the woody material from umbrella trees.
42. If archaeological material is identified during clearing activities, work must cease in the
vicinity of the material to allow its significance to be established and an appropriate course
of action undertaken as outlined in the EMP’s.
Staging of Clearing
Vegetation clearing shall generally correspond with proposed staging of the Settlers Cove
development. The stages are:
Stage 1 – Residential Single Lots 1 -13
Stage 2 – Residential Single Lots 14 – 33
Stage 3 – High Density Residential Lots 3 – 9 Lot 5 shall not be cleared until at least 25
Eucalyptus tereticornis trees have been planted, are well established (refer Ecological
Restoration Plan for criteria) and attained 3m in height in the Private Open Space for
Conservation & Waterways Protection area of Lot 5.
Stage 4 – High Density Residential Lots 10 & 11.
Post Clearing Activities
At the completion of development (civil) works, cleared areas shall be restored/landscaped as
follows:
• RHD building envelope in to be protected by mulch with further works to be in
accordance with approved Landscape Master Plan and landscape operational works plans;
• RSL building envelope to be protected by mulch as described in the Landscape Master
Plan;
• Road reserve – protected by mulch and landscaped in accordance with approved
Landscape Master Plan and landscape operational works plans;
• Service corridors within POSCWP and Park; in accordance with approved Ecological
