SETTLERS COVE NOOSA Landscape Master Plan Other Fauna Plant species which are good food resources (pollen, nectar, seed and fruit) for local wildlife are identified in section 8.5. These are to be are to be incorporated throughout landscaped areas. 8.3 Street Trees in Road Reserve - Landscaped Inherent to streetscape design are areas that require clear trunked trees to provide adequate sight lines for vehicles and pedestrians. Advanced specimen trees to fulfill this function and/or provide shade, street character, clumped plantings of mixed structure shall be selected from the list below. Acmena hemilampra Broad-leaved Lilly Pilly Myrtaceae Acmena smithii Lilly Pilly Myrtaceae Banksia aemula Wallum Banksia Proteacea Banksia integrifolia Coastal Banksia Proteaceae Callitris columellaris White Cypress Pine Cupressaceae Cupaniopsis anacardioides Tuckeroo Sapindaceae Elaeocarpus obovatus Hard Quandong Elaeocarpaceae Melaleuca quinquenervia Board Leaved Paperbark Myrtaceae Syzygium australe Brush or Scrub Cherry Myrtaceae Syzygium oleosum Blue Lilly Pilly Myrtaceae 8.4 Primary Native Landscape species Species below consist of flora existing on site or known to inhabit the same Pleistocene ecosystems . They are suitable for inclusion into proposed landscape areas of the Building Envelopes of the Settlers Cove development. eUnderstorey plantings to compliment street trees in the Road Reserve - Landscaped shall be selected from the shrubs and ground layer species list. Some important attributes of plants listed are given to guide for selection at operational works documentation. The first attribute column (FR) indicates species with fire retardant characteristics. These have been determined utilizing a number of reference documents that differ slightly in nominating fire retardant species. Those species that were not supported by the majority of references are not classified in this list as fire retardant. On this basis plants selected for landscaping at this site for their fire retardant characteristics shall carry the “X” mark in the FR column. The second column denotes flora that bear seed or fruit (SF) for local wildlife species. The third column indicates plants that are sources of pollen and nectar (PN) for the local wildlife. Flora marked in the fourth column are those species considered to be appropriate for Fuel control areas (FC) that can be pruned or slashed to < 300mm high.
