SETTLERS COVE NOOSA Landscape Master Plan 6. Fire retardant properties Priority given to these qualities only in those areas 8 subject to fire risk as identified in the Fire Management Plan. 7. Suitability for relocation Xanthorrhoea species on the site suitable for relocation (and other suitable species as identified by Landscape Architect) are to be identified and effectively removed prior to commencement of any site works. An experienced Landscape contractor or a suitably qualified Ecologist shall perform the selective removal of the species. Plants are to be containerised before being removed to a holding compound equipped with nursery facilities or directly transplanted to suitable locations on site. 17.3 Vegetation Clearing Aims Vegetation clearing shall generally correspond with proposed staging of the Settlers Cove development. The stages are: Stage 1 — Residential Single Lots 1-13 Stage 2 — Residential Single Lots 14 — 33 Stage 3 — High Density Residential Lots 3-9 (Note: Lot 5 shall not be cleared until at least 25 Eucalyptus tereticornis trees have been planted, are well established and attained 3m in height, inthe Private Open Space for Conservation & Waterways Protection of Lot 5, refer to the Fauna Management Plan for details). « Stage 4— High Density Residential Lots 10 & 11. Aim of Clearing Works within Building Envelopes. The aim of clearing works is to successfully remove unwanted vegetation, so that further clearing of lots is minimal during construction and into the operational phase. The result should be such that viable clumps (trees, shrubs, ground covers, grasses, emergent species etc.) and single specimens of existing vegetation can be successfully retained to form a viable part of the future landscape within that lot while allowing a safe environment to live amongst. The retained vegetation may form part of natural screening, habitat, fauna linkages and or visually pleasing bushland. Clearing of Residential Single Lots Building Envelopes The Building Envelopes within the Residential Single Lots can be split into two types: Type A — Lots 1 — 15 & 24 - 33 Type B — Lots 16 — 23, LandGraphics Maroochydore 04.05.2005 Landscape Architects and Environmental Planners PAGE 29
