Monitoring and evaluation
Monitoring and reporting on progress are critical to understanding the effectiveness of actions and
to ensure deliver on the ambitions and strategic priorities in this plan.
The scale and urgency of the climate emergency means that the Council and the community need
the evaluation of progress to be meaningful, transparent and timely.
Periodic Council reporting against the targets and metrics in this plan will occur every second year to
allow Council and the community to review the actions and progress made.
Community reference forum
Council will establish a climate change community reference forum to strengthen accountability,
transparency, and cooperation. Representatives of the forum will be able to provide advice on
climate change issues, on-ground action, barriers and successes, and ongoing program development.
This includes working with existing community groups established under the existing Zero Emissions
Memorandum of Understanding.
