Details of Submission |, make the following submission: | would like to register my opposition to the application for expansion of Noosa Civic on the basis of the significant impact aRONs> It will have on the whole retail environment of all retail village precincts making up Noosa Shire. The Noosa Civic Development was originally approved under the guise of being a business centre for the promotion of innovative and technology based businesses in Noosa. It’s owners seem to have lost sight of this and focused on retail. Historically Noosa Shire has been able to maintain its village atmosphere and appeal (to locals and tourists alike) by maintaining its village precincts of Tewantin, Noosa Outlook, Noosaville and the river foreshore, Noosa Junction, Hastings Street, Sunrise Beach and Sunshine Beach. Allowing an oversized retail shopping centre in the centre of the area will decimiate the small businesses surviving and providing employment in these areas, and will turn the village precincts into ghost towns. | do not believe it is in the interests of residents or small business owners in the Noosa region to allow this to happen. In addition, Noosa Council has a limit of infrastructure ability, a population cap, if you wish to call it that, and we are not far from achieving that. | do not believe this development is necessary to support our maximum population goals in Noosa Shire (if necessary, use separate sheet of paper and attach) Privacy Council will use any persona! information provided for the intended purpose only and for remaining in contact with you.
