PM Submission - Robbie Neller - MCU19/0066
Subject: MCU19/0066 - 2197 David Low Way Peregian Beach Qld. 4573 Lot 625 P93121 From: Robbie Neller Date: 2020-01-13T07:35:27+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail To whom it may concern, I write to you in order to provide Noosa Council with a formal complaint regarding the new multi-use business that has opened on the corner of Jabiru Street & David Low Way at Peregian Beach. You confirmed during our conversation that this business is currently operating outside the scope of the current council regulations for that particular site and that you will be reviewing the situation within two weeks. For the following reasons, I do not believe that the current business use is suitable for the above-mentioned site. 1. There is already a longstanding separate commercial business operating at the premises along with more than 1 residential dwelling on the site. 2. There is already significant restrictions regarding parking that are impeding on the site. 3. I am aware that there have been a number of traffic accidents occur at that particular intersection which also give rise to the major parking restrictions impeding that site. 4. I am aware that at least two previous tenants of the site have attempted to or enquired about having the current use changed to allow for a different style of business which have been rejected by council. 5. The signage that has been placed at the premises is very untidy/unpleasing to the eye and I understand it is in breach of Noosa Council's regulations. 6. All commercial properties in Peregian Beach are required to comply with strict local laws regulated by Noosa Council and most of the local businesses make every effort to comply with these laws while this business owner is showing a complete disregard for them. There are currently discussions being had among the Peregian Beach business community regarding the current breaches by the owner of this business and questions are being raised as to why the business has been allowed to continue operating in this regard while the matter is being investigated. Furthermore, a corporate style business like a real estate agency belongs in a business precinct/main shopping area such as Peregian Village or the office spaces across the road, which is the reason why all of the other businesses of a corporate nature are located in those two areas. I believe that there are a number of issues at hand here including the high-level of unfairness that this business places on other commercial property owners and tenants and also the previous occupant's the site in question. Kind Regards, Robbie Neller
