Shire-wide survey program
An annual shire-wide survey program is carried out by Council to build knowledge of the
distribution and abundance of invasive species. This is a randomised survey to remove bias
from the collection of data which can otherwise be focused to areas where people reside
or travel. The survey covers both public and private land. Surveys can also be species-focused
in specific areas such as high value ecosystems at risk.
