Recommendations
This Strategic Plan sets out practical recommendations to improve
accessibility, optimise existing assets, strengthen programming and
service delivery, and partnership-based service delivery across the
Shire.
This Strategic Plan recommends that Noosa Council:
1. Apply universal design principles across all future aquatic facility
upgrades to ensure equitable access and consistent service
standards.
2. Position the Noosa Aquatic Centre as a high-performance
training and warm-up venue in the lead-up to Brisbane 2032,
including actively pursuing pre-Games training camps and
Olympic legacy funding opportunities.
3. Embed environmentally sustainable design and technology in
all new and upgraded aquatic infrastructure to improve climate
resilience, reduce operational costs, and enhance long-term
asset performance.
4. Deliver a balanced and complementary mix of aquatic
programs that support community recreation, fitness, wellness,
rehabilitation, social connection, and clear pathways to high-
performance sport.
5. Implement consistent data collection and reporting across all
publicly accessible aquatic facilities to better inform planning,
investment decisions, and service delivery.
6. Strengthen partnerships with neighbouring councils, education
providers, health services, and tourism operators to maximise
shared facility use and support the attraction of regional and
major events.
