c) Determine the average slope of the land between the Predominant Vegetation Class and the Site as
described in Clause 2.2.4.

d) Consult Table 2.1 (AS 3959) copy attached and determine the Category of Bushfire attack.

2.01 Predominant Vegetation Class

Referencing AS 3959-1999 classify the vegetation in each direction as falling within the following
Clause 2.2.2 classes:

a) Class A, forest Trees — low , medium and tall, foliage cover greater than 30% in accordance with
Figure 2.1, [A] Types. (1),(2), (4), (5), (8), (9).

b) Class B, woodland Trees — low, medium and tall, foliage cover less than 30% in accordance with
Figure 2.1, [B] Types, (3), (6), (10).

c) Class C, tall shrubs Shrub and heath — tall, foliage cover 30% or more, in accordance with Figure
2.1, [C] Types, (12), (13). (14).

d) Class D, low shrubs Shrubland — low foliage cover less than 30%, in accordance with Figure 2.1,
[D] Types, (16), (17), (18), (19).

e) Class E, open woodland and open shrubland Trees — low and medium foliage cover less than 10%,
in accordance with Figure 2.1, [E] Types. (7), (11). (15).

f) Class F, grassland All grasses and herbaceous plants, in accordance with Figure 2.1, [F] Types,
(20) to (28).
2.02 Distance from vegetation

Determine the distance between the Site and the Predominant Vegetation Class in each direction in
terms of the following classes in accordance with clause 2.2.3:

a) Less than 15 metres (m).
b) 15 to 40m.
c) Greater than 40 m to 100 m.

d) Greater than 100 m.

2.03 Slope
Determine the Site Slope in each direction in accordance with Clause 2.2.4 in terms of:

a) Greater than 10°, or
