The trigger for the referral to SARA is shown on the Confirmation Notice (see attached) and has been included based on mapping and other advice. If you receive a written response from SARA stating that a referral is not required it must be submitted to Council asap. The SARA referral is critical in assessing the application so can you please follow up on that and get it to Council asap.

In regard to the time frame to respond to the Council information request I will indicate that your request to “stop” is the maximum permitted (130 days). Please note that:

       i.        If you go beyond the maximum 130 days any further extension must be with an agreement from Council and there is no guarantee it would be supported at the time , and

      ii.        if you have the information available before the 130 days you can submit it to Council and advise Council to “restart” with any leftover days kept as a credit

Good Afternoon Mark,
I attempted to contact you this afternoon via phone. I would like to request an extension of our development application expected on the 27th May 2022. Due to the ongoing weather events engaging an Engineering firm to complete the Engineering tasks requested has been very problematic. All other tasks are currently being undertaken.
I would like to receive the maximum extension time to enable the Engineer report to be completed.
Additionally, I have attempted to complete the application online to SARA however there is no category and triggers matching our situation. Luke Hamilton, Operational Manager from Aussie Environmental who is completing the requested reports contacted SARA directly and they have confirmed that an application to SARA is not required. SARA has said they will place this in writing and we are awaiting their correspondence.

I also wish to remind you that the information request for the application is due to Council on the 27th May. If you wish to “stop” you will need to notify Council at least 2 business days before the period ends.
