PM Submission Object - L & D Springall MCU16/0066 & OPW16/0133
Subject: MCU16/0066 OPW16/0133 From: deanne springall Date: 2016-11-03T10:05:28+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail To The CEO of Noosa shire council, RE: MCU16/0066 OPW16/0133. As residents and ratepayers in The Noosa Shire we are hereby lodging an objection to a proposed development at 5 Talyor Crt, Cooroy. The objection is based on the following facts. The appliction proposed is in a council and state designated light industrial area where the average business be it Panlebeaters,Light manufacturing etc,on the average open between the hours of 6.00am and close 5.00pm 5 days a week. This proposal would see a service station and associated infrastructure opening 7 days a week with extended hours . This proposed development is bounded by predominantly small rural holdings consisting mainly of horse training and breeding studs as well as small 5 to 10 acrea hobby farms. We believe that as Cooroy is currently serviced by 2 excisiting service stations that more than adequately service the population residing in Cooroy. This along with the fact that less than a 30 minute drive from Cooroy either north or south there are numerous service stations in the correctly zoned areas on either side of the highway .The fact of the matter is that this proposal that has been lodged with council has been lodged and refused by council before albeit on a different parcel of land in the Cooroy area. As can been seen by the appliciants lodgement they are once again applying for an MCU in seeking to change and subvert the council zoning plan. It Behoves us that the developers were well and truly aware of the council plan and zoning prior to purchasing the property which was only recently been placed on the market and then seek to change of the zoning at a later date. If the developers try and wish to proceed in their development we wish them nothing but good intentions, however we believe that this deveopment should be in the correctly zoned area as designated in the town plan not one that has to be changed by council and many meetings. We fail to see the value in having a town plan that we all must adhere to accept for when it does not suit and there fore applying for a MCU. The council plans and zoning are put into place by our elected represenatives and as such we believe they should be followed and adhered too; accept in exceptional circumstances on which council may rule . We fail to see how this MCU will be any benefit to the residents and rates payers of Cooroy. As previously stated this area is zoned for light industral only, and at no stage has there been disscussion of constucting a service station or a like minded business . We would therefore seek and ask that council is to maintain the status quo in relation to this proposal in refusing a MCU as stipulated under the town plan. Thanking you for your time Lawrence and Deanne Springall 230 Oceanview Rd Cooroy Ph:0419672158
