3.3 Habitat Connectivity
Aaerial imagery was reviewed to assess the extent of vegetation/habitat surrounding the site which
has the potential to facilitate dispersal opportunities for flora and fauna species. Major dispersal
opportunities are generally restricted to within the larger tract of vegetation present to the north-west
of the site (which is proposed to be retained). The vegetation to the east of the site has been
subjected to high levels of fragmentation and only narrow and linear strips of vegetation remain in
the landscape. Additionally, Lake MacDonald Drive presents a potential barrier to terrestrial fauna
movement to the east (refer to Plate 5).

3.4 Proposed Vegetation Clearing
The majority of regrowth vegetation within the development area can be removed for the
establishment of the residential subdivision. The high value vegetation within the site is not proposed
for removal and is protected within conservation covenants.
