water sports have been deliberately excluded from this study
for carefully considered reasons including: †† feedback sought and received from sporting clubs

†† nature of the activity is passive recreation (individual/ Stage 7 - Alternate draft precinct plan

†† preparation of alternate draft precinct plan by Council

†† activity is subject to a separate investigation by Council
†† commercial activity, rather than community not-for-profit.
For clarity, excluded activities include: Stage 8 - Review and finalisation
                                                                    †† draft review and edit
†† indoor rowing or ‘erging’
                                                                    †† finalisation.
†† kite surfing
†† surf life saving
†† kayaking/canoeing
†† stand-up paddle-boarding (SUP).
National and State participation trends have been considered
for some of these activities, where available and relevant,
in relation to known participation in Noosa, and determined
previously through community consultation activities. This
is particularly relevant where facilities providing safe access
to waterways can be utilised by the general community, in
addition to sport clubs.
