Reduced contamination in recycle bins                                                                                 — Council has approved a new polystyrene compacting machine which will divert 50 tonnes from landfill each year.
                                                                                                                      — Smart bins were trialled in Noosa Heads, using solar energy to compact rubbish. Further trials are ongoing.
