MCU12/0184 Concerns about development approval Scott Thomas
Subject: vac bcs 870 MCU12/0184 FYI Mayor Say NO to the Cooroy broiler farm development! From: Scotty Thomas Date: 2013-12-04T21:24:07+00:00 To: Internet Mailbox Sunshine Coast Regional Council Dear Mayor Mark Jamieson After attending the Community meeting last night I was concerned to hear that Council is still seriously considering approving the proposed Broiler Farm located at Top Forest Road. Apart from the well documented issues regarding the project’s fatal flaws concerning health, traffic, storm water issues, composting, I am further alarmed that Council are considering using RATE PAYERS DOLLARS to fund the upgrade of Top Forest Road for the sole purpose of improving access for a Multi-National company’s Double B trucks and other heave vehicles to the Broiler Farm. As a resident of Jorgensen Road, Ridgewood for more than 6 years I know for a fact that residents of Jorgensen Road have consistently lobbied our local Councillor for many years to address flood prone and dangers conditions of Jorgensen Road but have fallen on deaf ears every time due to NO BUDGET. How can Council now be prepared to inject rate payer funds that it does not have into a project that will not deliver one financial benefit to the local residents and surrounding community! I appeal to your sense of what is right and good for the local community and take previous recommendations from experts to VOTE NO to this Broiler Farm development. Yours sincerely, Scott Thomas 48 Jorgensen Road, Ridgewood Q 4563 Mobile: 0448 170 187
