While I feel that an attractively landscaped visitor accommodation centre and caravan park, self storage units, car wash and information booth would provide benefit to the businesses and residents of Cooroy and surrounding areas at the site at 125 Myall Street, I have doubts about the wisdom of having a service station and fast food outlet at the entrance to a small country township that is trying to attract Grey Nomads to the area. The initial visual impact could act as a deterrent to the very people that Cooroy is trying to attract. Of equal or greater concern though is the amount of traffic that the service station and fast food outlet will generate in Myall St. There is no direct access to the site from the highway and vehicles must enter and exit the site from Myall Street. A service station and fast food outlet placed adjacent to a highway is naturally expecting to attract a large percent of its business from the highway. In this case traffic from the highway will increase the traffic on Myall Street. An entrance to the site from the highway would ameliorate the traffic problem that will be generated on Myall Street but I understand that this will not be allowed. I therefore object to the service station and fast food outlet at 125 Myall Street. Jennifer Sadler
