TO The application Officer NGNORTON From Hans Stolz 8/2 Serenity Close Noosa Heads, 4567 mob. 0407 672 673 email: [email protected] We have read the Development application for the proposed resort complex and shops by Calile Malouf Investments and herewith wish to object to the development in its current format. Our objection is mainly based on the lack of consideration of road infrastructure servicing the proposed Resort and the relevant traffic report submitted by the developer. The main points are; * Traffic volume estimates are base on low volume off season observations, considering the amount of units proposed, the staff numbers, casual visitors and service staff Grant Street is certainly unsuitable and insufficient for the traffic load. * No consideration is given to pedestrians traffic with Grant Street not even having a suitable footpath. No consideration is given to wheelchair, prams and walking frames. As is, it is a major challenge to safely use Grant Street access for pedestrians. * No consideration is given to bicycle traffic at all despite the plan boasting of 124 bicycle racks in the complex. There is no dedicated bicycle lane on Grant Street and the street is too narrow with on street parking. Riding along Grant Street is a dangerous activity at best of times. It is only a matter of time until someone gets seriously insured. * Using Banksia Avenue North as an alternative bicycle path or footpath can not be considered as it is too steep for safe cycling or even walking other than the fit and daring. * Parking for trades vehicles during the construction period will be a major issue, off site parking as previously arranged at the AFL ground would have to be arranged. We have total trust in the Noosa Shire council to address these issues in a manner considering safety of visitors and residence. Regards Hans Stolz
