Att 5. BAL Report - 555 Louis Bazzo Dr
3.0 Bushfire Hazard Assessment 3.1 Bushfire hazard classification Figure 3. Council and State bushfire hazard mapping “Bushfire Prone Area” (BPA) is defined under Building Regulation 2021 and the BCA as an area identified as such by Local Government , in this case using the methodology specified in Bushfire Resilient Communities Technical Reference Guide (BRC)(October 2019). The BCA calls up AS3959-2018 as providing “Deemed to Satisfy” construction levels for Class 1, 2, 3 and 9 buildings and associated Class 10a structures constructed in bushfire prone areas. AS3959-2018 specifies building implications within 100m of designated bushfire prone land, or more strictly speaking, within 100m of intact, classified vegetation (50m in the case of grassland). This BMP establishes Bushfire Attack Levels (BALs) for the proposed building, comparing Methods 1 and 2 under AS3959-2018. The remainder of Section 3 establishes the potential fuel loads and slopes for the site, carried forward to Section 6, which validates the closest hazard as supporting “High” potential bushfire intensity” of between 20 – 40 000kW/m of fireline, for all three Sites. Report compiled by Bushfire Risk Reducers for Mr Tim Olah, June 2021 Page 8
