3. Details of Submission
We make the following submission:
We object to the proposed intensive accommodation development behind the new Peregian Beach IGA on the following
basis:
the density, design and placement of the accommodation is not in keeping with the natural values of the area ie
too close to the natural swampy areas and bushland to the west and south of the site. In particular, it will bring
high density accommodation within metres of the Noosa National Park and potentially increase disturbance to
wildlife, weed invasion and polluted runoff from gardens, lawns and other domestic activities.
the density, design and placement of the accommodation is not in keeping with the community values of the
Rufous St precinct to the north of the site;
the density and placement of the proposed development is not in keeping with the intent of the Peregian Beach
‘Village’ precinct which aims to have low key activities focused on the village square.
the IGA and associated commercial precinct has already detrimentally affected traffic flow on David Low Way
through the Peregian Beach roundabout. Additional traffic in and out of Sandpiper Court associated with the
proposed accommodation development will exacerbate this problem.
This development is not in keeping with the character of Peregian Village.
