Primary Action 1: Monitoring Fire Weather
RESPONSIBILITY: The ECO is to nominate persons (i.e. volunteer wardens) to regularly monitor the
three day fire weather outlook during the annual fire season (August to March).

These fire danger rating maps can be found online (via the Rural Fire Service Queensland
homepage) at:

Alternatively, fire danger weather forecasts for Queensland are available via the Noosa Shire
Council Disaster Dashboard and the Bureau of Meteorology at:

http://www.bom.gov.au/qld/forecasts/index.shtml

Fire danger rating warnings are also broadcast on ABC Radio and ABC website and social media
platforms. Increased fire danger is also usually reported on via regular radio and television news
programs, and daily newspapers.

The three day fire danger rating outlook is to provide the relevant forecast conditions which prompt
action pursuant to this Plan. In instances where authorities commence warnings of increased fire
danger ratings, the ECO or volunteer wardens are to check the three day fire danger rating outlook
until such as time as the ratings drop back to High (High danger is common in South East Queensland
during Spring and early Summer periods).

Sunrise Beach is within the Southeast Coast district.
