2.0       Bushfire Hazard Assessment
2.1       Bushfire Prone Land

Bushfire activity is prevalent in landscapes that carry fuel and the two predominant bushfire types are
grassland and forest fires. Factors such as topographic characteristics and quantity of fuel loads influence
the intensity and spread of fire. The scale of a bushfire hazard is tailored to the characteristics of the hazard,
the size and characteristics of the affected population, types of land use exposed to bushfire, predicted
development growth pressures and other factors affecting bushfire risk.

The State Planning Policy (SPP) Bushfire Overlay (2015) identified a large portion of the site as having a
High Potential Bushfire Intensity (see Figure 2). Vegetation to the west and south of the site is classified as
either Medium or High Potential Bushfire Intensity, with the buffers from this vegetation extending throughout
the remainder of the site.

2.2       Vegetation Assessment

2.2.1     Methodology
Vegetation classification over the site has been carried out as follows:
 Aerial Photograph Interpretation to map the vegetation classification and extent; and
 Noosa Council Biodiversity Overlay mapping.
