July 1982 July 2010 June 2020 Figure 1.1 Nearmap imagery of Noosa Spit Noosa River Dredging at the Noosa River Foreshore sites has occurred every two years since the approvals were granted in 2006. Previous sediment investigations carried out by Soil Surveys Engineering Pty Ltd adjacent to Gympie Terrace and Weyba Road indicated that material (to 4m depth) along this stretch of the river consisted of fine to medium grain alluvial sand with some coarse shell fragments (Figure 1.2). No actual acid sulfate sols were present. Potential acid sulfate soils were present however Acid Neutralising Capacity (ANC) testing indicate that material had sufficient buffering capacity to neutralise any acid formation.
