2 Proposed Dredging ̶ 2.1 Noosa Spit Council propose to dredge an area within a broader ‘sand extraction zone’. Dredge design indicates that ~85,000 m3 will be removed from the sand extraction zone which is approximately 187,000 m2. The final dredge footprint will be determined based upon the latest bathymetric survey which will be undertaken prior to dredging. This adaptive approach is required due to the rapidly changing nature of the dredge area. Current bathymetry data shows existing levels to exists from 0.0 to -3.0 m AHD. The proposed dredge design includes dredging to -3.0 m AHD. Dredging works will be undertaken via cutter suction dredge with delivery of sand to Dog Beach for nourishment purposes via a slurry pipeline. Typical cross sections for the beach nourishment and dispersive sand plugs (east) shows final levels to +1m AHD, below HAT (1.16m AHD). Typical cross sections for the dispersive sand plug (west) shows final levels +0.5 m AHD, below MHWS ( 0.66 m AHD). A10342 | 002 7 01 December 2021
