6. Noosa River DMP Ver0 (Combined)

     SITE INVESTIGATIONS
                 Survey
Bathymetric survey of the Noosa River was undertaken by Hydra Logic 2019 (Figure 6), this surface was used to
prepare the dredge design. It is expected that the riverbed surface will vary over time, due to natural sand
migration and flood events.
A sub-bottom survey was undertaken by Acoustic Imaging 2020 that identified potential sand nourishment
sources. It was shown that a source of clean sand is expected adjacent Hilton Esplanade up to 4.5m below
riverbed surface (Figure 7). Given the existing riverbed surface at this location is already up to -4m AHD in this
location, a proposed increase in the dredge depth (deeper than -2.5m AHD for other locations) is proposed for
this area. This is supported by additional sediment testing by Pacific Geotech 2022 (Section 4.1.2).
