1 I NTRODUCTION & B RIEF The site at 12–14 Gympie Street is located within the Noosa Council residential suburb of Tewantin. Stacey Clohesy, Senior Environment Officer, Development and Regulation, Noosa Council, requested an Arborist Report on specific council trees via an email dated 31 March 2026. The report aims to address tree protection concerns relating to the proposed project design. Jack Lewis Town Planner, commissioned this Arborist Report in response to the Noosa Council email request for information relating to the protection of three (3) existing street trees at the frontage of the site This report reflects the current project design and aims to respond to the council’s request. This Arborist Report will: • Provide information on the existing subject trees • Review the project’s design in relation to the trees. • Discuss mitigation measures to retain subject trees. • Provide Tree Protection Specifications for retained trees. Project Urban landscape design plans are used and referenced in the report to demonstrate the subject trees' locations within the verge in relation to the development. Tree retention and/or removal, and the Tree Protection Specifications and plan are developed guided by the concepts in the AS 4970:2025 Protection of trees on development sites. Please note: the Tree Protection Zone (TPZ) does not always reflect a tree’s calculated Notional Root Zone (NRZ). The TPZ is an area allocated to a tree to create an Exclusion Zone. This area is guided by many factors, including but not limited to the tree’s NRZ calculation. Tree species, age, vigour, tolerances, ground condition, past ground disturbances, ground/root obstructions and the requirement to complete a project and retain a tree with a non-conforming TPZ that is justified. 26_04_27_AIA_JLTP_12-14 Gympie St Page 4 of 17
