6. LAND FOR WILDLIFE LIFECYCLE
To structure the processes by which Local Governments deliver LfWSEQ, a process map or lifecycle
has been created and sits within these Guidelines. The LfWSEQ Lifecycle is divided into five steps:
• Step 1 – Enquiry. The process by which a landholder initiates interest in the LfW program or a
council identifies a property that may be eligible to join.
• Step 2 – Assessment. The process by which a council determines if a property is eligible to
join the LfW program and, if so, the status of the LfW property.
• Step 3 – Registration. The process of adding a property to the LfW program and documenting
that within council and to the new LfW member.
• Step 4 – Membership. The process of regular correspondence with LfW members to support
the growth of their conservation skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver on-ground
conservation outcomes, and to ensure the property’s ongoing eligibility in the program.
• Step 5 – Ownership Change/De-registration. The process by which a landholder leaves the
LfW program, or a council identifies a property for De-registration.
