REVISED POLICY GUIDELINES- PRIVATE LAND CONSERVATION PARTNERSHIPS · Policy Guideline - Private Land Conservation Partnerships Final with attachments
9.3 Demonstrated Landholder Willingness
Regardless of eligible landholder type, the landholder must be able to demonstrate a willingness to:
• Manage and/or restore the property for nature conservation.
• Expend effort to provide significant wildlife habitat.
• Clearly pursue the maintenance and enhancement of wildlife habitat.
The landholder must also be willing, or has demonstrated their willingness, to integrate nature
conservation with other land management activities such as grazing, horticulture or education on
mixed land-use properties.
9.4 Other Considerations
In addition to the abovementioned criteria, a council LfW Officer may consider a range of factors in
their determination including:
• Local ecosystems and habitat condition
• Historical land use
• Connectivity of the property with other bushland areas
• Broader conservation potential for neighbouring properties and beyond
• Strategic location for program visibility or community education
• Opportunities to positively promote voluntary nature conservation
• Local best-practice land management
• Local rural industries
• Local Government programs, policies and plans
• Local community values and landholder networks.
