PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 20 MAY 2014
REPORT
A report on the Noosa on Weyba development application was considered by Council at its
Ordinary Meeting of 3 April 2014. Council resolved to refuse the application, finding 17 reasons
for refusal.
An appeal was lodged with the Planning and Environment Court on behalf of the applicant on 7
May 2014. The appeal is against the following:
Noosa Council’s decision (as Assessment Manager) to refuse the application;
Sunshine Coast Council’s decision (as a Concurrence Agency) to direct Noosa Council to
refuse that part of the development within its Local Government area; and
The Department of Environment and Heritage Protection’s decision (as a Concurrence
Agency) to apply a condition prohibiting above-ground infrastructure in mapped areas of
high ecological significance.
The appeal seeks to overturn these decisions and have the appellant’s appeal costs paid by
Council and the co-respondents.
It is in order for Council to defend the appeal.
