Properly Made Submission (Object) Elizabeth Merritt MCU12/0184
Subject: nzw BCS 1192 MCU 12-0184 Notice of Submission Elizabeth Merritt From: Liz & Peter Date: 2013-06-04T02:07:49+00:00 To: Internet Mailbox Sunshine Coast Regional Council To whom it may concern As a land owner of a property 257 Top Forestry Road I have major concerns for a development of a significant size outlined in the above application. 1. The use is inappropriate and does not fit with Noosas clean green image. I moved to the Sunshine Coast three years ago for this reason and I practice permaculture within my own acerage and oppose this practice of animal cruelty. Noosa should not be supporting battery operations, which are diametrically opposed to our sustainable biosphere status. 3. Top Forestry Road, Old Ceylon Road and the Cooroy-Belli Road are totally inappropriate for the nature and scale of vehicles needed to service such a use. Travelling Top Forestry Road is difficult enough without the increse in traffic, in particular trucks that would need to access this proposed development. The road is not sealed, narrow in places and has many blind corners with very steep drop off on the northern side. Children walk to and from the bus on this road and could be impacted by the increase in traffic movement. Turning out of Old Ceylon Road onto Belli Creek Road is dangerous with the blind corner from west ravelling traffic. 4. The proposed buildings have an impact on aesthetics of many land owners within the district. There is huge potential for environmental impact, particularly having regard to noise and odour potential and nutrient runoff on the steep country. The practice of 'fertilising' fruit trees on steep land will run into Blackfella Creek and has not been considered in this application. Property values will decrease significantly in the area. This application should be rejected for these reasons. With concern Elizabeth Merritt PO Box 973 Cooroy QLD 4563 PH: 5442 6966
