PM Submission Object - S Gribble Koala Rescue Qld - MCU16/0081
Subject: Proposed Developement of Walter Hay Drive From: Susan Gribble Date: 2016-12-16T08:22:57+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail, Lyn Chambers, Ray Chambers, Murray Chambers We at Koala Rescue Queensland Inc would like to lodge our concern about the proposed development on Walter Hay Drive and Eenie Creek Road for a future retirement home. A large portion of this development would involve the reclaiming of valuable koala habitat of which we strongly oppose. Noosa koalas are probably the last colony within the whole Sunshine Coast area at the moment and to endanger their existence in this way is just illogical. One koala requires 300 trees per year to survive, just to survive, not breed or increase numbers but just live. Every bit of habitat is essential to be protected and a project of this size would be land vandalism on a grand scale. We as a group, implore you to reconsider the application made by Domain for the retirement village on this site and need this land to be retained as a koala habitat for future generations of koalas and people to benefit from. Kind regards, Susan Gribble Koala Rescue Queensland Inc
