Phase 2 aims to inform, test and build ownership and understanding of the draft plan’s proposed actions and implications
with the broader community and relevant State agencies through the release of the draft plan for public consultation
purposes. The feedback sought through this process will assist council set priorities for implementation of actions and
asks—
e What are the communities ‘priority actions’ for implementation?
e Are there other actions to consider for inclusion in the plan?
Phases 3-5 aim to incorporate feedback provided in Phase 2, workshop this information with Councillors and develop the
final River Plan for implementation. There will be new costs involved with an increased local focus on management of the
river, especially with the transfer of management of some State responsibilities to Noosa Council. A stronger local focus on
the river will however lead to better management and environmental outcomes in the longer term.
