INTRODUCTION; :

Edwards & Associates have carried out a site evaluation at the above address in accordance with AS.
1547 —2000 “On-Site domestic wastewater management”. and the On Size Sewerage Code by the
Qid. Dept. of Natural Resources. :
The aim of the investigation was to determine the suitablility of soil conditions for effluent
disposal..and to determine the likely effect on the environment...

Field work was carried on the 3-6-2005

SITE RACTORS: Site slopes at approximately 3 — 4 degrees.

CLIMATE:Approximate annual average rainfall is 1740 mm.

The groundwater water table is > 1.2 m below ground here and cut-oif drains for this purpose are
not considered necessary. °

SOIL ASSESSMENT: :

From on-site visual examination:....and permeability testing carried out.....a8 an additional aid in
the classification process....a textural classification of “ Clay Loam ” (Soil category 4 ) has been
adopted for this site...The approximate average permeability is 0.14 m/day and DIR (design
irrigation rate) is 25 mm/week.(AS1547:2000 Table 4.244) Soils are considered to be slightly

dispersive....... Emerson No; = 6 (Classes i — 8)...(No 1..has highest dispersion capacity). Testing
carried out according to AS1289.3.8.1-1997. . ;

0~ 400 LOAM, moist, dark brown.
400 -~ 450 (+) CLAY ( CL ) silty, brown.

Note: A sandy loam soil type will-be/wili not be required to be imported into the disposal area
