Planning Application Number MCU10/2083
Dear Sir,
I am writing to advise of my objection to the change proposed by this Planning Application. In
my opinion this locality does not have a need which would justify the rezoning of this site from
residential to commercial.
There are sufficient shops in the immediate area and any increase in shop numbers will only
have a detrimental effect on the revenues of the existing traders, with the obvious results of
job losses and closures. In addition, the increase in traffic in this residential area caused by the
proposed retail development, will bring its own problems, not the least of which is the
potential danger to children in this residential area.
There are of course, other reasons that the change should not proceed, such as the effect on
local properties and residents and the fact that there are already empty shops in the general
area, to name but two, and I would therefore ask the Council to reject the application.
